Troopers boys end regular season with win
The Garrison Troopers closed out the regular season on a high note Tuesday night, earning a hard-fought 50-46 road victory over Westhope-Newburg.
In a tightly contested matchup on Feb. 17, Garrison showed poise down the stretch to secure the four-point win and build momentum heading into postseason play.
The Troopers battled through swings in momentum and executed when it mattered most in the final minutes.
The game unfolded as a back-and-forth contest, with neither team able to establish a commanding lead. Garrison worked patiently in the half court, looking to create high-percentage scoring opportunities while also focusing on limiting turnovers.
On the defensive end, the Troopers emphasized rebounding and contesting shots, forcing Westhope-Newburg to earn every basket.
