Troopers continue battling through challenging Region 4 slate

The Garrison Troopers continued to face the grind of a difficult Region 4 softball schedule last week, taking on Harvey/Wells County and Central McLean in a pair of challenging contests.
Though the results did not go in Garrison’s favor, the Troopers continued to show determination at the plate and resilience in the field while competing against experienced region opponents.
Garrison now sits at 0-7 in Region 4 play and 0-7 overall, but with several games still remaining on the schedule, the Troopers continue searching for the breakthrough performance that can help build momentum heading toward postseason play.
The week opened Tuesday, April 28, when Garrison hosted Harvey/Wells County.
Harvey/Wells County came out aggressively at the plate, scoring nine runs in the opening inning before adding 13 more in the second and three in the third on the way to a 25-2 victory in three innings.
Despite the lopsided score, the Troopers continued battling and managed to push across two runs in the bottom of the third inning.
Kamryn Gislason recorded Garrison’s lone hit of the contest, going 1-for-2 at the plate.
Cara Schlehr continued to be a spark offensively, drawing two walks in the game, while Alexis Kastner, Sienna Starr, Rainie Evans, Talayna Savage, and Taylor Myers also each reached base via walk.
