Troopers continue to grow through early-season challenges

The early portion of the 2026 season has tested the Garrison Troopers softball team, as the program continues to build experience against some of the top competition in the region.
Over a three-game stretch, the Troopers faced Beulah, Velva-Drake-Anamoose, and Washburn/Center-Stanton, falling in each contest but gaining valuable reps along the way.
Garrison opened the week on Tuesday, April 14, hosting Beulah, where the Miners showcased their offensive firepower in a 20-0 victory.
Two days later, the Troopers returned to the field against another strong opponent in Velva-Drake-Anamoose, with the result again favoring the visitors by a 20-0 final.
The stretch concluded Monday, April 20, when Garrison took on Washburn/Center-Stanton. The Troopers were able to break through offensively in that matchup, scoring a run, but ultimately fell 21-1.
While the scores reflect the growing pains of a young and developing roster, head coach Jacque Schieble has continued to emphasize progress and individual growth throughout the early season.
