Troopers gear up for season

It will be a little while before the Garrison Troopers get their first taste of action, but after 60-degree temperatures Monday, already, the team is ready to take the field. The first contest is slated for April 13 against Velva.
Sixteen players are out for this year’s squad that is laden with veteran players. This is the year to make some noise.
Five seniors will lead the way. The veteran players include Cody Hagen, Dan Gackle, Randy Essler, Luke Hasenwinkel and Dylan Engel.
The Troopers got their first taste of outside baseball Monday. And after spending the past few days indoors, the team made full use of the fresh air, fielding fly balls and grounders.
