Troopers ready for districts

Troopers ready for districts
By STU MERRY

The Garrison-Max Troopers volleyball team is set to go where no Trooper volleyball team has been for quite some time – regional play.
The Troopers come into the District 10 Tournament as the No. 1 seed. With only five teams in the district, the Troopers, by virtue of being the top seed, are assured a spot in the Region 5 Tournament.
The district tournament begins its three-day run Monday in Wilton. Play continues Tuesday and concludes Thursday, Nov. 4. Regionals are in Washburn and slated for Nov. 8, 9 and 11.
The Troopers close out the regular season this week. Tuesday, the team took on Turtle Lake-Mercer-McClusky in Turtle Lake winning 3-0. Tonight (Thursday) the Troopers travel to Underwood to take on the Comets.
Head Coach Sarah Lee said the key to success through the end of the season and into tournament play will be to keep the focus on the team rally cry “Dream Big, Focus Small.”
The coach said the Troopers need to continue to reinforce the building blocks that have been stressing all season: serve-receive, serving, and relentless pursuit of the volleyball. These are all elements of the game that we can control, Lee said.
