Troopers rebound with home victory

The Garrison Troopers volleyball team bounced back from a road loss with a victory at home during a two-match week.
Garrison opened the week Tuesday, Sept. 1, with a trip to face Towner-Granville-Upham. The Troopers managed to take one set from their opponent, but TGU earned the 3-1 victory.
Although Garrison was unable to come away with the road win, the Troopers had little time to dwell on the result. They returned to action two days later and responded with a much stronger outcome in front of their home crowd.
Garrison hosted Lewis & Clark North Shore-Plaza Thursday, Sept. 3, and reversed the score from its previous match, defeating the visitors 3-1.
The victory gave the Troopers a positive finish to the week and showed their ability to make a quick adjustment following a loss. After dropping three sets against TGU, Garrison turned the tables by claiming three of four sets against Lewis & Clark North Shore-Plaza.
The split also provided the Troopers with valuable early-season experience. Playing twice in three days required the team to quickly shift its attention from one opponent to another while preparing for different challenges.
