Troopers score 12 in win over Surrey

The Garrison Troopers put together one of their most complete outings of the spring on Wednesday, combining disciplined at bats, aggressive baserunning, and dominant pitching to roll past the Surrey Mustangs by a 12-1 score on their home field.
While the final margin was lopsided, the win was built less on big swings and more on relentless pressure.
Garrison managed just three hits in the contest, but consistently found ways to get runners on base, force mistakes, and capitalize on nearly every scoring opportunity that came its way.
From the opening inning, the Troopers established control.
Garrison plated three runs in the bottom of the first without needing a barrage of hits, setting the tone for what would become a long afternoon for Surrey. The Troopers followed that up with an even bigger second inning, scoring four more runs to quickly build a seven-run cushion.
Rather than letting up, Garrison kept adding on.
Two runs crossed in the third, and the Troopers tacked on three more in the fourth, stretching the advantage to 12-0 before Surrey scratched across a run in the fifth.
By then, the outcome had long been decided.
What stood out most was how efficiently Garrison manufactured offense.
