Troopers show great improvement

By TYSON SMEDSTAD ZIEMANN
Garrison-Max Varsity Volleyball season opened last week with two games.
First game jitters against the Berthold Bombers Aug. 28 were definitely present, but Coach Josh Wastvedt said, “We have to keep in mind how incredibly young we are not only grace-wise, but also experience wise.”
He said there are only a few girls had any varsity experience from last year.  This opens up the team to find players willing to take on new leadership roles to continue the tradition they started last season.
Statistically, there were a lot of great things out on the court, Eighth grader Karli Klein had an impressive first ever varsity match with five kills on 11 swings and had only one error. She also had four solo blocks. Meghan Wyman was on her game with seven kills.
This team showcases a talented bunch of girls.
