Troopers split week
The Garrison Troopers volleyball team faced a grueling stretch from September 29 through October 6, balancing road play, a home match, and an all-day tournament in Washburn that tested their endurance and depth across multiple opponents.
The week began with a tough road loss at Glenburn on September 29, where the Troopers fell in straight sets 0-3.
Despite showing moments of strong defensive coverage and hustle, Garrison couldn’t quite establish consistency at the net or maintain momentum through each set.
The loss was a reminder of the importance of maintaining energy early in matches, something the Troopers have continued to emphasize throughout the season.
Garrison quickly rebounded with an impressive home victory on October 2 against White Shield, sweeping the Warriors 3-0 in dominant fashion.
Behind strong serving runs and balanced offensive play, the Troopers dictated tempo from the start and never looked back.
The win demonstrated the team’s ability to bounce back quickly and perform efficiently in front of their home crowd.
The Troopers carried that momentum into the Washburn Invitational on October 4, a full-day event that featured some of the region’s strongest competition.
Facing multiple teams in pool play, Garrison fought through a challenging slate that included Harvey/Wells County, Grant County, Berthold, Plaza, and Strasburg.
In their opener, the Troopers fell 0-2 to a sharp Harvey/Wells County squad that capitalized on consistent hitting and court coverage.
