Troopers split week
The Garrison Troopers boys basketball team opened the second week of January with a dramatic comeback victory on the road before falling in a tightly contested battle at Jamestown University, leaving the squad sitting at 2-5 overall as they enter an important stretch of region play.
On Tuesday, January 6, Garrison traveled to Grant County to take on Grant County/Mott-Regent in what turned into a tale of two halves.
The Troopers trailed 8-9 after the opening quarter, and their struggles continued throughout the second frame as Grant County/Mott-Regent surged to a 28-19 halftime advantage.
Garrison entered the locker room searching for answers after a sluggish offensive stretch and difficulty establishing momentum.
Those answers arrived in the third quarter. Garrison began chipping away at the deficit through improved ball movement, better spacing, and steady defensive pressure.
