Troopers top Lions, lock up Region 6 top seed
The Garrison Troopers cemented their place at the top of the NDHSAA Class B Region 6 standings with a dominant 10-2 road win over Bishop Ryan on Sunday, May 12.
With the victory, the Troopers improved to 15-2 overall and officially locked up the No. 1 seed heading into regional postseason play.
From the opening inning, Garrison came out sharp on both sides of the ball.
The Troopers struck quickly with two runs in the first and never trailed, setting the tone early and maintaining control throughout the seven-inning contest.
Treyson Iglehart led the offensive charge with a perfect day at the plate, going 3-for-3 with an RBI and a walk.
Gaige Roberts also delivered a standout performance, batting 3-for-4 and driving in three runs, including a key two-run single during Garrison’s five-run fifth inning that broke the game wide open.
