Troopers turn back Nedrose

By STU MERRY
It started as a blowout, but when the final horn sounded, the Garrison Troopers’ boys basketball team knew they had to work for their victory Tuesday night against a fledgling Nedrose program, winning 54-43.
Only in its second year, the Nedrose Cardinals boys basketball team visited Roy Schei Gym at Garrison High School for the first time.
It was all Troopers early. The boys exploded out of the gate to lead 19-0 after the first five minutes. At the end of one, the scoreboard showed a comfortable lead for Garrison, 19-7.
In quarter number two neither team could find the range, but Nedrose shaved the deficit by one, trailing 25-14 at the break.
Nedrose wouldn’t go quietly. The Cardinals turned the table in the third, pouring in 19 points to the Troopers’ 11.
