Troopers turn in strong performances at meet

Sixteen teams from across the region traveled to Garrison for last week’s Trooper track and field meet, giving local athletes a competitive field and a full day of events.
Sophomore Eli Ruud delivered one of the standout performances for the Troopers, placing fourth in the 300‑meter hurdles, fifth in triple jump, sixth in the 110‑meter hurdles, and ninth in high jump.
Ruud also recorded personal bests in three of his four events, a milestone that caught the attention of the Garrison coaching staff.
“I was happy with our overall performances,” Troopers head coach Jason Ermer said. “We had several PRs. All four of our javelin throwers had PRs also.”
On the team side, Drake/Anamoose claimed first place among the 16 girls’ teams competing, while Hinton/HMB earned top honors in the boys’ division.
