Two Troopers make All-Region team

Kaitlyn Klein is a force to be reckoned with, on and off the court.
“Kaitlyn is the kind of athlete that does something great and still wants to do it even better the next time,” said head volleyball coach Josh Wastvedt. “She constantly works to try and improve at every aspect of the game, not just being a big attacker.”
Klein has equal admiration for Wastvedt.
“He pushed you to be a better player every day. I felt like we’ve come so far as a team in such a short time because of him,” said Klein. “He knows what each player is capable of and makes you believe it’s possible. We are lucky to have him here in Garrison.”
Klein was seen by other teams as Garrison go-to player. She was the one other teams had to stop if they were going to beat the Troopers. Even with that type of pressure she never crumbled.
She is also humble and speaks about her team, as opposed to herself.
“The season started off a bit rocky because none of us had played together and we had very little varsity experience,” said Klein. “Once we found a rotation that worked, good things started happening and we saw more success.”
