Young Titans sweep at home

By MINDY IGLEHART

The Titans started a packed week of baseball by hosting Wilton. In the PeeWee game, the visitors took a 3-run lead in the 1st but the Titans answered with five.  Wilton put another 3-spot on the board in the 2nd but the Titans scored seven to take a comfortable lead. That was the end of the scoring for both teams as the Titans came away with a 12-6 win.

The Little League game was decided early as the Titans scored three in the 1st and blew the game open in the 2nd, cruising to a 15-1 win.

Turtle Lake came to town on the 21st, looking for a season sweep of the Titans. But the home team had other ideas, scoring three in the 1st inning and tacking on eight runs in the 3rd and 4th to take an 11-3 win. The win avenges the only loss so far for the PeeWee team.

The Little League team fell behind in the 1st when Turtle Lake pushed three runs across. A 2-run Titan first got them back in the game and a 5-run 2nd gave them the lead for good on their way to a 10-4 win.
