An "a-maize-ing" event

Its nothing to be disappointed about, Aw Shucks! Corn Fest is Saturday with activities starting at noon in the Garrison City Park.
The Garrison Chamber of Commerce’s Trade Promotion and Community Development committees are working together on this event, with the goal of bringing in more customers to area businesses. Local stores are encouraged to offer specials the day of the event.
Keeping classic activities and encouraging growth, the event still features free corn-on-the-cob for everyone, which was the main draw from the beginning, but now the event has expanded to include Wally’s Cook-off, a scarecrow contest, car & tractor show, live entertainment, kids games, vendor show and booths of snacks, food, and drinks.
This year also includes a petting zoo, from noon to 5 pm, and the Mississippi Boy’s Solid Gold Band playing from 4-9 pm in the band shelter.
