Appreciating years of service

It was a surprise they never expected.
Sandy and Ramsey Crawford were brought to tears after they were lured to the skating arena in northeast Garrison last week.
After years of hard work and tireless service to the Garrison Parks & Rec. Department, board members thought it was time to give something back.
Out of secret meetings and hushed discussions came the idea to dedicate the skating arena to the Crawfords as a way to thank them for of their service to the department.
Soon, a plan was hatched to get the two to the rink without suspicion, where a building full of friends and loved ones waited to surprise and congratulate them.
Surprised they were as they entered the building, without a clue of what was happening.
“What is all of this?” Sandy asked, grinning.
