April showers

Frowns and worried brows on the faces of area producers have turned into smiles following five days of steady to intermittent rain.
Officially, in the Garrison area, 1.69 inches fell since late last week, the largest amount coming Saturday when .71 inches was recorded.
For the month, the total for Garrison stands at 1.83. The monthly average precip. for April is 1.27 inches.
For the year, precipitation in the Garrison area stands at 2.41 inches. The average for this time of the year is 2.36.
Other area totals reported include: Ryder - .90, Butte – 2 inches.
At Max, official weather observer Randy Wagner recorded 1.72 inches of moisture for the same period. The most fell Saturday, .65 inches. About an inch of snow also blanketed the Max area Saturday, but it quickly melted.
Wagner said the moisture was much needed, not only for the farmers, but for everyone.
