Pool will open

Will the pool be opening and is baseball starting this summer with the new guidelines was the main topic of discussion at the Park Board meeting Tuesday night.
“I think we need to do something, these kids need something to do … even if it’s not what we normally do, even if we keep it small,” Board member Amber Klingbeil said.
Baseball will start next week
The board has decided to go ahead with Tee-ball, Pee-wee and Little League but the main problem is that not one person has stepped up to coach this summer.
If there are no coaches, there will be no baseball.
The board tossed around the idea of evening practices and games to accommodate possible coaches with jobs during the day.
The board will host three registration nights: June 5, 6 and 8. Parents can sign up their children for baseball, sign a waiver and go through new rules for this season at these meetings.
Many towns are starting games around June 15, so Garrison will be in a rush to get practices started and games scheduled next week.
Little League and Pee-wee players will be required to have their own helmet because there can no sharing of any personal equipment.
T-ball this summer will be for 5 and 6 year olds only. There will be no exceptions younger kids.
Also in T-ball, helmet is not a required, but if there is no helmet  provided, your child will not wear one.
Players should also bring their own bat if you have one. There will be one bat provided for players who do not have one. It will be sanitized in between each player who uses it.
