BFLG names Wilderness its signature project

Earlier this year, Garrison received a $80,000 Transportation Alternative Program grant for a proposed walking/hiking/biking trail in Wilderness Park. The TAP grant is from the N.D. Department of Transportation.
But it comes with one stipulation that the community come up with another $20,000, or a 20 percent match to receive the grant.
Stepping up to ensure that is met is Better Living For Garrison. This year’s annual meeting, Sunday, Nov. 1 at 5:30 p.m., at the Garrison Auditorium, serves as the kickoff to BLFG’s participation in a fundraising effort to help with improvements to the Wilderness Park Improvement Project. Money raised will be used strictly for the path and not for the landscaping that must be done before a path can be created.
GAIA gaming funded the original drainage study ($10,000) addressing water coming into the park.
