Bit o' blarney
Annual BLC event Sunday
By STU MERRY
There’s nothin’ like wearin’ a bit o’ the green Sunday. The Benedictine Living Center is hosting it’s St. Patrick’s Day bash, the annual brunch and auction.
The event is at the Garrison City Auditorium and is from 11 a.m., to 1 p.m. The event includes a free-will donation breakfast buffet served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with an eggbake casserole, caramel rolls, fresh fruit, coffee and juice.
Always adding a great deal of fun to the event, the Just for Kix Dancers, will be returning as entertainment, beginning at 11:30.
Following the dancers, Daryl Lies, auctioneer, will be getting the bidding competition going for our auction items, said Sandy Giffey, BLC health information director.
"Auction items are donated through the good will and courtesy of businesses and other supportive groups," Giffey said.
The event has become an annual tradition in Garrison. BLC started tipping its hats to the Irish back in 2003 when the event was an afternoon Irish stew.
"Through the years it may have lost some of the ‘Irish’ but has progressed into an appealing breakfast brunch that entices and satisfies," said Giffey.
