Bond election Oct. 8

In just a few weeks, patrons of the Garrison School District will help decide the future of education for students who attend Garrison schools.

With that in mind, Garrison School Board members have developed two sources of information that should help local residents understand proposed improvements at both schools.

Of the Oct. 8 bond election, Superintendent Steve Brannan said, "I really feel this is the right time. It's been on the drawing board for seven years." In his monthly report, Brannan wrote, "The future of our school district is going to require additional space and upgrades. If we don't do these projects now, they will cost two-three times what this expansion and renovation will cost our taxpayers in the future."

To help school patrons make an informed decision, the board's Building and Grounds Committee has developed fact sheets and brochures that will be available to the public at numerous locations. They will also be distributed during parent-teacher conferences.
