Tribal, county authorities meet

By STU MERRY

Offenders are being put on alert that there’s no place to run and no place to hide, whether it is going to the reservation or coming off when it comes to McLean County and the Fort Berthold Reservation.

More than 40 law enforcement officers with the county sheriff’s department and Three Affiliated Tribes sat across from one another Thursday at the White Shield Complex.

The meeting brought authorities together to review a new tribal/state/county intergovernmental mutual aid agreement.

The gathering served as an informal training session that included a question and answer period between county law enforcement and Tribal officers. A number of scenarios were presented by each agency, including areas where previously there was confusion.
