Burgum extends COVID-19 mitigation measures

BY TYSON SMEDSTAD

As North Dakota COVID-19 positive cases numbers go down, mitigation measures are being extended.
North Dakota Govornor Doug Burgum and Interim State Health Officer Dirk Wilke extended mitigation measures hoping to slow the spread of the COVID-19.
Mask mandate
Burgum extended the measure requiring masks to be worn in indoor businesses and indoor public settings as well as outdoor public settings where physical distancing isn’t possible. The measure has been extended to Jan. 18.
The expansion to Jan. 18 will allow for a 14-day incubation period to pass after Christmas and New Year’s to provide a clearer picture of case trends.
