Burlesque show raises concerns

An event planned by Hunter’s Bar & Grill Jan. 14-15 raised eyebrows at Monday’s Garrison City Council meeting. The establishment is promoting a show called "California Bad Girlz." The show is billed as a burlesque show and bikini revue.
Council members said a handful of calls have been received, expressing concern over what is planned. One of those who received negative feedback is Alderman Paul Schlichting.
"Is that something we want?" he asked fellow council members.
Anticipating something like this occurring, the city council implemented an ordinance April 2012 regarding live performances. The move came following a Chippendale’s male revue in Garrison a couple years ago.
