CBD products legally sold

What a difference 10 months can make.
In April 2018 Michelle and Derik Alcaraz of rural Garrison set up a booth in a Main Street store showcasing the empty packages for CBD or cannabidiol products. Two weeks later the McLean County Sheriff’s Department seized empty boxes, promotional materials and business cards.
After the raid, the couple was provided a letter from the state attorney general’s office stating that the CBD products – derived from hemp, a sister plant of marijuana – were illegal to sell.
Today the booth is back up and displaying in the Main Street Market and another vendor, Ashley Brossart, had an informational meeting about the CBD products she sells.
