Chamberlain receives additional charge

A Garrison man is now facing attempted murder charges stemming from a Feb. 28 motel-shooting incident.
According to an Affidavit from McLean County Courthouse in Washburn filed on April 23, 2025, Jason Chamberlain had an additional charge of attempted murder added to his case.
The affidavit written by Det. Aaron Matties stated that on Feb. 28, Chamberlain entered the North Shore Motel in Garrison carrying a gun. After knocking the printer and candy jar off the front desk, he walked down the west hallway. Upon coming back towards the lobby, he turned towards the T.V. and attempted to fire a shot but the safety was on. After removing the safety mechanism, he fired one shot through the T.V. The bullet went through the wall and lodged in the shower in the motel room. During that shot, the magazine fell out of the gun, landing on the floor.
