Charges dropped for former game, fish director

A felony charge was dropped last week for a former North Dakota Game and Fish Director who was previously being charged with gross sexual imposition.
On April 8, the state’s motion to dismiss the Class AA felony charge against Terry Steinwand, 71, of Mandan, was granted without prejudice and signed by Morton County District Court Jude Marina Spahr.
“The court has, on multiple occasions, been presented with requests to approve plea agreements that would amend the charged offense of Class AA felony gross sexual imposition charge to a Class A misdemeanor,” court documents obtained through a public records request stated. “The court denied those requests.”
