City council has full slate
Modlin joins board
By KARA JEFFERS
All seats on the Garrison City Council are now full. Monday evening, the council held a special meeting to address filling the lone vacancy on the board.
Two names were brought up for consideration, Rick Schumaier and Tyler Modlin.
"Both would be good candidates," Mayor Shannon Jeffers said.
Jeffers appointed Modlin. "He was the first to express interest in the position," he said, speaking of Modlin. "He had also received two write-in votes."
Alderman Paul Schlichting made a motion to accept the appointment, which was quickly seconded by council woman Susan Steinwand. Jeffers asked for discussion, but none was given. It was unanimous amongst city council members to accept Modlin to fill the vacancy.
