The McLean County Commission passed a motion to remove two stop signs near 36th Ave SW, commonly known as Wolf Creek road, during its May 24 meeting. The north and south stop signs were implemented to help manage dust in the area, but after many residents complained about the signs, the committee voted to allow the Highway Department to remove them. The signs created an unanticipated problem of washboard issues as people continuously start and stop at the intersection, according to Commissioner Steve Lee. The signs are expected to be taken down
as early as this week, according to Highway Superintendent Jim Grey.
