Courthouse move-in ready

Courthouse move-in ready

By STU MERRY

It’s almost ready. In about two weeks, offices should be relocated to the new McLean County courthouse.
Tuesday, county commissioners got a glimpse of what the new facility would look like, having a final walk-through of the second and third floors. Looking over the new facility with a fine-tooth comb and roll of blue painter’s tape to mark areas that need attention, commissioners liked what they saw so far.
Architect Al Fitterer accompanied commissioners as they checked out doors, walls, mechanical rooms and windows. Fitterer said with a few touchups, the upper two floors are looking pretty good.
Work remains on the main floor that will house the recorder’s office, auditor’s office and commission chamber. The second floor has the extension office, First District Health and social services. The third floor is home to the legal department – courtroom and states attorney’s office.
