Courthouse woes require permanent fix
Courthouse woes require permanent fix
By CHERYL ODDEN
“It’s the right decision for the future.”
Although the words were spoken by Ladd Erickson, McLean County state’s attorney, nobody in the room disagreed. In fact, when county officials attended a Garrison Chamber of Commerce committee meeting Monday, they found full support to build a new courthouse.
The topic (build or not build) is not new - but it is important; it will be decided by McLean County voters Nov. 2.
While the cost of the proposed facility is steep – county officials agree that building a new courthouse is actually less costly than not doing so.
