Dickens first weekend has arrived

While the Dickens Festival may be celebrating its 21st anniversary and events are planned for three weeks, there are certain events occurring the first weekend only. Anyone planning on attending the festival this year is advised to grab tickets early, as they’re being sold quickly.
Three events to take place the first weekend are the English High Tea, Christmas Quilt Show and the Fruitcake Toss, all you won’t want to miss. (See details below)
New this year is a London Telegraph, where at the Information Center (in the City Auditorium), you can pick out a postcard and write your very own little message, and it will be mailed.
A 2 p.m. bus ride in the Queen Elizabus, the big red double-decker bus sporting union jacks, has been added to this year’s schedule of bus rides.
The nightly parade, lighting up the town (at approximately 5:30 p.m.) provides float creators with a chance to win some prize money. Those viewing the parade can vote to choose the People’s Choice winner. Cast your vote to help determine the best float. Local businesses and organizations provide the floats.
