While it’s only been a few months since Better Living for Garrison established a local community foundation, preliminary goals seem within reach.
During Monday’s Garrison Chamber of Commerce meeting, Don Gackle, BLFG president, said he expects that the Garrison Community Foundation will reach its initial goal of $50,000 during its first year. That figure, he explained, would include $15,000 from the North Dakota Community Foundation. The local foundation is being operated by the state organization.
As of Monday, Gackle said, donations to the local foundation stood at $17,365. He said another $15,000 has been pledged and that those funds would be donated this week.
