Don’t just stand there, bust a move

Don’t just stand there, bust a move

Last year, the Garrison Just for Kix program was in a state of flux.
Kim Lies took the helm, with her daughter Amber (Lies) joining in as her head instructor.
The women had to think outside the box to make this a go in a time when people were scared to do just about anything.
“It has been interesting. COVID has provided challenges along with any time you start something new you need to learn their way of doing things, Just for Kix is no different,” Kim said.
Some Just for Kix programs around the area went virtual which Kim was thankful her program was able to avoid. They both said they value in-person classes and not trying to learn and teach a group activity over a computer screen.
“I think the kids and parents have been glad to have something even if it’s just getting together once a week for class,” Kim said.
The dancers haven’t been able to perform at basketball games like they normally would this winter because the school is not allowing outside groups in the building.
