EMS Kids Strong celebrates first responders

A legion of first responders, equipped with their best equipment and vehicles, descended en masse to Fort Stevenson State Park on Saturday – much to the delight of area children and families, who celebrated the welcome return of EMS Kids Strong following its absence last year.
“It was canceled last year ‘cause of COVID, so this year we’re back in full force,” Dawn Lakoduk, a paramedic with Garrison-Max Ambulance and one of the event’s organizers, said. “The reason I got it started was, we went to an accident, an injury accident, and kids were scared.
