Fall clean-up is Saturday
Sometimes a good thing bears a repeat performance. That seems to be holding true for the Garrison Chamber of Commerce’s annual citywide clean-up campaign that is held in the spring.
This Saturday, the chamber is sponsoring a fall clean-up day. In conjunction with the event, the City of Garrison is offering city residents free landfill privileges Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. According to city officials, only burnable discards will be accepted at no charge. Regular disposal fees will be charged for appliances and non-burnable items such as tires.
One area in which Saturday’s clean-up differs from the spring clean-up campaign is that residents are responsible for hauling their unwanted items to the landfill.
Those who do not have the means to haul their items to the landfill can arrange for pick-up by calling the city auditor’s office at 463-2600 during regular business hours.
