Fetzer takes home the crown
Skylar Fetzer has always had a love for animals.
One of her favorite things to do is to help dry off and feed newborn calves.
“She got her first solo responsibility with a bottle calf when she was four years old,” Skylar’s mom Amanda Fetzer said. “It was a steer that she raised, showed at open shows, and then became her 2,200-pound pasture pet that would only lead for her before he was sold.”
But this summer she wanted to try something new.
Her road to rodeo queen
“Skylar finally got her first horse, Ricky Bobby, in the fall of 2023 after begging for one since she was old enough to know what a horse was,” Amanda said. “Since then, she has been taking riding lessons and has been trying out different kinds of horse-riding activities and loving every minute of it.”
