GARRISON – After making some fine-tuning, the 2023 budget for the City of Garrison has been whittled down so it will ask for
62.77 mills instead of 66.66 mills, a difference of $18,000. At the Garrison City Council meeting Monday evening, the preliminary budget, as presented with changes, was accepted. In all, the city will be asking for 62.77 mills, or $317.465, from the county. City auditor Diane Affeldt said that with the proposed changes, it is down from what was originally proposed, but still an increase from last year, when the city asked for 60.06 mills, or $265.515. The total mills asked was 62.77 mills, or $317,465, an earlier departure from the 66.66 mills, or $335,465, the city had originally planned for.
