Garrison Community Foundation goal met

Although a drive for donations didn’t begin until the end of October, area residents have responded generously.
The donations, to the newly established Garrison Community Foundation, exceeded the initial goal for raising $35,000 by the end of the year.
Reaching the goal brings a substantial financial boost. The N.D. Community Foundation, manager of the local fund, promised up to $15,000 in grant money if $35,000 was donated to the Garrison foundation before the end of 2011.
The two-stage grant offer included $5,000 for reaching donations of $25,000. Once that level had been attained, fund organizers set their goal on the second grant – a dollar-for-dollar match up to $10,000.
