Garrison hosts Wounded Warriors in Action

Third annual pheasant hunt
By DONNA SCHWARZ

The city of Garrison, Krause’s Market of Garrison and 4-Bulls Meat & Seafood of Mississippi hosted the third annual pheasant hunt for four Wounded Warriors from all over North America.
The Wounded Warriors in Action Foundation serves approximately 200 Purple Heart Recipients across the nation each year and organizes over 40 separate events hosted by different cities and companies. This year, the Garrison event was held in honor of the late Glen Schreiner, who had a passion and heart for the heroes of our nation. Schreiner previously donated the use of his 2,500 acre farm for the hunt. This year, his brother Bruce Schreiner and sister Laura Seidler, continued the tradition.
Scheels provided hunting gear for the veterans to use. Garrison Fire Department hosted the Oct. 24 banquet. Although the banquet was intentionally smaller this year and not open to the public due to the COVID-19 virus, approximately 40 people were able to attend to show their support. The Fire Department volunteers prepared food that was donated by Krause’s Markets.
