Grass fire breaks out near Max
Fire crews were busy Friday afternoon attending to a grass fire in the median and along the east side of Highway 83 about one mile south of Max.
A fire sparked in the ditch along the highway. Flames reportedly ignited on both sides of the highway as well as in the median.
“I believe it looks like probably a cigarette was thrown in the ditch,” Garrison Fire Captain Tod Graeber said. Max Fire Chief Cody Swanson agreed.
