Halloween is NOT canceled

Garrison will still have Halloween festivities for everybody this holiday.
Drive-thru Trick -or-treat
The Sakakawea Optimist Club will be hosting a drive-thru Trick-or-Treat activity. From 4-6 p.m. on Oct. 31, drive the car up to the Garrison Auditorium parking lot and pull through for a free hot dog and treat bag with a glow stick included.
“We felt it was important to continue with celebrating the tradition of Halloween with the kids in our community, even if we had to do it 2020 style. What better holiday to celebrate this year than one where masks are a part of many costumes,” Optimist member McKaila Behles said.
The Optimist Club will also be handing out clues for a Spooky Scavenger Hunt around town.
While you are downtown, take your trolls for a stroll up and down Main Street. Look for signs posted in the windows of participating businesses handing out treats.
St. Paul Lutheran Trunk-or-treat
After hitting downtown, drive on up to St. Paul Lutheran Church for its annual Trunk or Treat. If you are interested in providing a “trunk”, it is open to the public and set-up begins at 3:30 p.m. The event runs from 4-6 p.m. Cars will be parked a minimum of six feet apart to follow safety guidelines.
“We wanted to offer our community something ‘normal’ that hadn’t been canceled because so many things have since last March,” event organizer Lisa Maki said. “We had heard the Optimist was still planning for to a drive-by event so we adjusted our time to allow families that were planning to participate in the trunk-or-treat a chance to attend the Main Street events and still have time to set-up their trunk.”
