Students at Garrison High School are gearing up for next week’s homecoming game.
Their plans include a variety of activities prior to the 7 p.m. contest with the Lewis & Clark Bombers.
Due to Labor Day next Monday, homecoming activities will officially begin on Tuesday. Students, dressed in appropriate garb for “Sports Jersey, Hat and Sunglasses Day,” will gather in the high school gym at 9 a.m. to meet candidates for homecoming royalty.
Wednesday has been designated as “Clash Day.” A homecoming tradition, “Trooper Trials” will be held in the GHS gym at 12:40 p.m.
On Thursday, students will vote for homecoming king and queen. Their attire will likely reflect the attire of the faculty; Thursday is “Dress Like Your Favorite Teacher Day.”
Friday, homecoming, has been designated “Spirit Day” when students are encouraged to dress in the school colors of blue, white and red. Coronation will be in the gym at 11:45 a.m. and is open to the public.
School will be dismissed at 1:30 p.m. so students can participate in the parade at 2 p.m.
The Garrison FFA chapter will hold “Farmer Fun Activities” in the City Park from 4-5 p.m. The event is free of charge and will be offered as a fun activity for elementary school students. Among the offerings will be games and prizes.
