Housing availability questioned
Housing availability questioned

Meeting the demand for housing can be a juggling act at best. What does the customer want – or need?
The scenario is playing out in many northwest North Dakota communities as the oil boom mushrooms. While Garrison has not felt the full brunt of the boom like other cities, it has experienced its own form of housing crunch.
One thing the community has, though, is a choice. There are options for long-term housing, short-term housing and temporary lodging.
Construction of two houses in northeast Garrison by Three-Mile High, LLC, is creating a buzz of interest from potential home buyers.
Nathan Turck, spokesperson for Three-Mile High, said a lot of people have been driving by the construction sites, “checking them out.”
He said plans are for the homes to be completed this year with plans for additional construction next year as well. Turck said the group is anticipating Garrison’s potential for growth.
