Ice rink for rent

Ice rink for rent

Garrison will soon have a new location to offer groups or individuals a place to host a wide variety of activities.
At Monday’s Garrison City Council meeting, Kerry Seidler, chairperson for the park board, asked that the council consider delegating authority for the park board to take over operation of the new indoor ice rink. The council agreed, saying it’s time.
The park board will now be in charge of activities at the facility. Seidler said inquiries have already included auctions and parties. This past fall, an individual asked to rent the facility for a sports camp. But because the facility wasn’t finished and still had a dirt floor, the request was turned down. But the request gave park board members an idea.
The building could become a multipurpose facility during the spring, summer and fall months when it’s not being used as an ice rink. Rental fees would go to the park board. No fee schedule has been established. Maintenance would also be the park board’s responsibilities, city officials said.
