By STU MERRY

A proposed comprehensive plan for the City of Garrison received the green light Monday night from the city council.

The first step has already been taken as a committee was announced that would review five proposals. The goal is to return with a recommendation at next month’s council meeting.

The committee would include Mayor Shannon Jeffers, Alderman Chris Gratton, Planning and Zoning member Ray Zerr, Realtor Mike Matteson, GAIA Executive Director Keith Witt and City Attorney Jim Wilson. As the preliminary work has been carried by GAIA officials Witt will be the facilitator.

Submitted proposals include: Benchmark CMR – Kannapolis, North Carolina ($65,000); KLJ –Bismarck ($37,000); IntelliplanZ – Munich, North Dakota ($25,000); SRF Consulting – Bismarck ($43,924); CCM Economics – Highlandville, Missouri ($34,500).
