Garrison food pantry idea evolving

A Garrison food pantry is a few steps closer to reality.
It has a name: Garrison Area Resource Center, which was the name that was used more than 30 years ago when a food pantry and thrift store operated above the Garrison Bowling Alley.
The organizers are focusing on the paperwork at this point: bylaws, corporate status and a board of directors.
Alisa Dahl, newly elected president, said, “We’re in the organizational stage, getting all the required documents filed to get the organization set up with the state and putting together a business plan and getting information gathered so we an file for our 501c 3 status.”
The newly formed board of Dahl, Vickie Lindquist, Dawn Kolden, Nancy Leidholm, Janis Sloka and Jill Denning Gackle, is working on finding a location for the pantry.
