Kabanuck inducted into Hall of Fame
It all started when he was 11 years old.
Wayne Douglas Kabanuck went to see a Hank Williams movie at the Oak Park Theater in Minot.
“It was called Your Cheatin’ Heart ... and I walked out and thought, ‘Man! That’s something I want to do.’ It just hit me,” he recalled.
At age 13, his aunt overheard him singing in the kitchen and encouraged him to pursue music and enter contests.
After years of hard work, Wayne Douglas Kabanuck has received a major country music honor.
The Max native was recently inducted into the Dakota Musicians Association’s 2025 Hall of Fame in Aberdeen, South Dakota.
