Maki, Seidler honored with service awards
Members of the Garrison School Board have been honored for their commitment from the North Dakota School Boards Association.
At the NDSBA Annual Convention, Chris Seidler and Lisa Maki were awarded an NDSBA Veteran Board Member Service Award for their committed and purposeful service as a school board member.
NDSBA recognizes board members for participation in leadership activities at the state and national level, in addition to their outstanding work on their local school board.
From the press release sent out by NDSBA, the award program —based on a point system — is designed to encourage school board members to take advantage of a wide range of training opportunities and to incorporate what they have learned into their local school board service.
“I believe both of them are truly invaluable. They each have their unique skill sets like Chris with Finance and Lisa with policy,” Garrison School’s Superintendent Nick Klemisch. “I think their greatest attribute is their longevity on the board. Knowing how a board truly functions to not have personal agendas while being informed of the district.”
